Canyon de Chelly

Yelp recommended that we find "the burrito lady" who has a truck on the corner by the Chinle Hospital.  Indian fry bread, ground beef, and potatoes--was much improved by adding some salt (served separately).

Rode into the Canyon with an authorized Navajo guide.  Our guy was named Roy, and he was great.  Very rough road, and lots of sunshine.

Pictographs!

Amazing contrasts

Me trying to illustrate how tall the canyon walls are--not sure that came across.

We stashed Oliver the bunny in the store room of the gift shop, so that he wouldn't bake in the hot car while we toured the canyon.
No, really, it's pretty bright out there.  This is our hotel in Albuquerque.

And if you don't catch this reference, you must not have watched "The Sure Thing" as many times as we did.  ("Cheetos in Albuquerque, I can hardly wait.")

Amazing Mexican food tonight and a short walk around Old Town Albuquerque.  Tomorrow we head on to Oklahoma City.
